The B.C. Highland Dancing Association has continuously sponsored and promoted Scottish dancing events in British Columbia for over 70 years. Originally established in 1934 to foster the traditional dance culture of Scotland, it presently embraces the traditions of this dance form and encourages participation in it by children and adults of all ages and cultural backgrounds.

The BCHDA annually sponsors both the BC Open & Closed Championships as well as many other competitions and events.
